These are monthly opportunities for existing students to get together in one space and practice their disciplines, get up to date information, community chat, UK plans, exchange information and just immerse yourself in the Great Work for a whole day.
As you can see from this picture (on left) we have a wonderful location for our 'Get Togethers', right on the edge of Avebury Stone Circle which is a World Heritage Site. The stone circle and Avebury Manor's are managed by the National Trust and they have their own website for visitors - see here. We hire their education facility for the day and they allow us to use some of Avebury Manor grounds for our disciplines. You can see in the picture that we have a field for our Fieldwork, Gridwork positions, beautiful avenues of trees for our Neighbourhood Walks and the hall for our indoor disciplines (inc C&E).
When you arrive you will be required to fill out an RSE UK Existing Student Form. On this form you should state which disciplines you have been taught to do by an Official RSE Teacher at an RSE worlwide event . If you have not learnt how to do a discipline you will not be able to practice it at a 'Get Together'. There are no official RSE Teachers present at these 'Get Togethers' you will not be taught anything by other students. This is purely an opportunity to practice the diciplines you have already been taught, in a group of individual students who are active in developing their true potential.
Next door to the education facility there is the National Trust restaurant which offers a wide range of food, drinks and desserts. We usually have lunch at about 12.30pm or when the morning session has finished. Other local facilities include a pub in the middle of the circle and a shop called The Henge. Throughout the day there will be tea, coffee, water(from the tap) and biscuits available.
This really is a wonderful opportunity to practice your disciplines and for RSE UK to develop an active student network thoughout the country. We will be organising other 'Get Togethers' in different locations as opportunities arise, for example we now have access to private land for Archery etc.. Ultimately these days are about you and our common interest, they will develop as RSE UK develops.
